Concentration is a key to effectively focusing on what you really want in life, whether you are building self-confidence or self-empowerment. Effective focus on your tangible goals and desires makes it very clear for the Law of Attraction to give you back your clearly stated desires in life. The Random-House Dictionary of English Language Second Edition (Unabridged) defines it as "the art of concentrating by giving exclusive attention to one object through positive affirmations." Random-House Dictionary also defines the word concentration to include the following expanded definition:
1. Direct toward one point
3. To bring all efforts, faculties, and activities to bear on one thing or activity
This includes focus, attention, and energy to a given subject. The more time that you give to concentrating your focus, attention, and energy to goal setting, the more clear you will be about life. The lack of it is one of the major reasons why the Law of Attraction doesn’t work efficiently for most people who are trying to use it. If you don’t know what you want, the Law of Attraction does not know either, and it will give you what you don’t want by default. So, what do you really want in life? The Law of Attraction is the process of reaping and sowing what you have given your focus, attention, or energy to in life. According to research by Ohio University, most people can’t focus on one thing for much longer than 20 minutes, and some tasks less than 3 minutes. If you want the Law of Attraction to work for you all the time as it relates to your specific goal-setting process in life, you must discover techniques to minimize interruptions. It takes a certain amount of self-confidence and discipline to have a focused life that is full of excitement and fun. However, if you can spend some time mastering concentration, you will have less and less disruptions and interruptions in life.
I do a lot of public speaking and I observe audiences and their reactions. Most of the time people seem to have limited concentration skills. I understand there are some people who are kinesthetic in the audience, but 25-30 percent of people in these auditoriums are texting, looking at iPads, moving around or leaving the auditorium. Our American culture has become so addicted to and distracted by cell phones, Blackberries, iPads, texting, Twitter, and computers that they have lost their personal focus. High-school and college students notice how they have lost concentration levels and how difficult it is to pay attention to the instructor in class.
There are two simple ways that will lead to greater self-empowerment and concentration. They are follows:
Turn off all of your electronic devices for at least one hour a day and substitute that time with reading a book to help stimulate positive brain activity. Electronic devices can undermine your ability to focus on what you really want in life. If you want more technology and electronics in your life, then the Law of Attraction will give you more of the same and you will continue to lose concentration levels.
Meditation involves all kinds of wonderful techniques such as devotion, music, contemplative time, exercise, breathing exercises, listening, etc. According to a study published by Sage entitled "Intensive Meditation Training Improves Perceptual Discrimination and Sustained Attention," the ability to focus one’s attention while resisting distraction is critical for adaptive, goal-oriented behavior. The study suggests that brain functions may be enhanced through meditation. I strongly suggest the use of meditation therapy to help you jump start each day as you focus, give your attention and energy to what you really want on a daily basis.
Mild or light meditation each day is sufficient enough to build strong concentration with view toward reducing or eliminating distractions and interruptions.
The Law of Attraction is always there to help you to return to you what you really want in life.
